Verminification begins in the new Age of Sigmar

“Snik-Snik” They came from the depths that only Skaven can fathom. It is at the start of this new Age of Sigmar that more than ever before, the very existence of Skaven as more than a pestilence is being challenged.

Chaos had been prevalent in the old world, but little did they expect the unknowing deviousness of the now-ascended Horned Rat. Oblivious to the Chaos gods are the uncanny whims, procrastinations of the 12 great clans of the Horned Rat. Each clan gnawing, footclaw-ing and back-stabbing for glory to the clan himself.

For ages they have pitched clawpacks against numerous new adversaries. These sporadic battle encounters were just land-grabs, glory-hunting packs teething themselves rather than something part of a greater scheme of things. Long have we not heard the Screaming Bells gush out the underworld cities like vermin to a plague. In fact Grey Seers had been in recluse, rumours say they have lost faith in the Horned Rat’s appetite for war.

It is time for skaven to show their pent-up dissatisfaction with......just about everything! Even betraying the other Chaos Gods who had already given the Great Horned Rat the shifty eyes since the 8 realms were formed. It won’t be easy to put aside their scuffy power wrangles, but the agitation of late congregates the factions in a united front where the Great Horned Rat will lead all Skaventide to consume the world!

Secretly, clan leaders have sent out slaves to tunnel out gnawholes in all realms almost in anticipation of a great conquest. Never before have the factions worked together in such frightening, *Gulp*, dare I say it……respect?! for the common battle. There are even rumours of mixed clan Skaventide armies befelling great armies in the realms.

The clans of Pestilence have been brewing diseases new and old. Many too unclean to even mention on a fresh white page without a squelch.

The Verminus clawlords and their ever-kin of never ending Stormvermins and Clanrats have been honing their skills over skirmishes to the death……and trust me many die and yet exists an EverTide of fangs, claws and teeth.

The Deathmasters of Eshin on the other hand have been too quiet. Far too quiet. Many say they haven’t seen the shadowy Deathmasters and gutter runners for years now. This sits unwell with ALL skaven-kind! You never know when a Deathmaster would be right behind you with poisoned dagger.

Clan Moulder on the other hand have been breaking records, melding flesh, warpstone and practically everything and anything together to make the biggest monstrosities.

Lastly, lest we forget the warpstone-greenest of clans, Clan Skyre. The cultish worship of the Arch-Warlocks and Engineers grows unreal. The air in the underworld had been filled with the baying scent of careless warpstone energies of late.

The battlefields await, it is time for Skaven, it is time for Verminification.
